The Gorst Rural Building

Our aim is to be the premium provider of crop, pasture and animal services in Western Victoria.  We provide our growers with productive,  profitable and sustainable solutions for their enterprises.

Gorst Rural is a rural retail and service business based at Lake Bolac in Western Victoria - operating for over 25 years.  We have branches at Willaura,  Tatyoon (Tatyoon Rural) and Skipton.  Gorst Rural supplies all seed, chemical, fertiliser and animal production requirements as well as general merchandise, fencing, and grain storage/handling equipment.

As a member of the NRI buying group, we have access to many products at competitive pricing.  We are a leading retailer and service provider in the region, and winner of The Age/ Dunn & Bradstreet, Victorian Business Awards in the Country & Rural Category for both 2005 and 2008.

The Peter Gorst Legacy

Gorst Rural was founded by Peter Gorst over 25 years ago. Peter grew the rural supplies business from humble beginnings into the multi- faceted operation it is today.  The family owned enterprise maintains its old fashioned values of good service & advice and to supply the right product when you need it – at the right price.  Peter’s strong customer focus combined with sharp business acumen- have seen his clients be some of the most successful in the region. Sadly, Peter passed in January 2013 but his legacy lives on.

Strong businesses, strong communities, strong people.  Gorst Rural prides itself on being an integral part of local life- not only providing important services for primary producers, but employing locals and supporting like businesses.  Unlike much of our corporate competition,  our revenue goes back into the business and local community- not to faceless shareholders in capital cities.  In addition we sponsor many kindergartens, schools, sporting clubs, festivals, hospital and like charities- all part of being in a small community.
